Mercedes-Benz: Brand’s first yacht goes on sale

In the recent weeks, a great amount of car-related nautical news has emerged. Strangely, it all seems to be happening at once, however we’re not complaining. It’s very exciting to see a different side of the car industry and the manufacturers that we have known for so long.

Mercedes is the latest brand to introduce a car-inspired yacht. It’s not the first carmaker to do so as only last week, Aston Martin announced its new boat.

It’s an intriguing idea – mixing the luxury of a yacht with the comfort, speed and performance of a car. Although many have attempted it in the past, it’s still considered to be an uncharted territory by many.

Although this isn’t the first time Mercedes has ventured into this territory, having produced the world’s most powerful motorboat in the past, this time it’s different. The new yacht is meant for cruising the open waters in luxury and style instead of merely being all about speed.

It’s a known fact that fans of luxury vehicles are also fond of yachts. The recent one-off custom Nautical-themed Rolls-Royce is a great example of that. A customer requested for it to be built and it wasn’t the first time a brand produced a unique nautical themed vehicle.

The Mercedes-Benz yacht is powered by two Yanmar 6LY3-ETP diesel engines capable of producing around 947mph. The yacht is also capable of reaching a top speed of 46mph, however the brand recommends keeping it at around 35mph, to prevent any problems from occurring.

Mercedes Style is responsible for the yacht’s design. It’s just as luxurious as one would expect anything carrying the Mercedes badge. It comes with a spacious bathroom, a dressing room and whole lot of luxury features, guaranteed to satisfy anyone after a high level of luxury and comfort.

It’s not clear at the moment how much the yacht will cost, however you can expect it to come with a ridiculous price tag.

There’s no denying that the yacht offers an incredible level of luxury and style. Whether it will do well or not remains to be seen. It’s not going to come cheap that’s for sure, so it’s more than likely only the super-rich will be able to afford it.
