Supercars have always played an important role in the world of cars. Although most are very expensive and can only be enjoyed by the super-rich, millions of enthusiasts around the world patiently await the release of the next new supercar.
Today’s announcement is great news for supercar enthusiasts, as the German brand Apollo Automobil (formerly known as Gumpert) has just announced that its latest vehicle, the ApolloN, will make its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show next month.
In 2013, the brand, still known as Gumpert, declared bankruptcy, which many thought would be the end of the carmaker.
The brand surprised everyone today, when it announced its return. Although its name has changed to Apollo Automobil, the brands focus remains on high-performance, speed and power.
The Chinese Group, Ideal TeamVenture, has purchased the brand back in January and upon buying, renamed it.
Much hasn’t been revealed about the ApolloN yet, however we’re expecting more details to become available next month.
In the recent years, the brand struggled to keep afloat, mainly due to poor sales, which often plague supercar manufacturers as demand for them is quite limited.
Before the brand filed for bankruptcy, it debuted a new concept at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The Apollo S is believed to be the inspiration behind the ApolloN, so if then new vehicle is anything like the concept we’re in for a treat.
The brand claims that the ApolloN will be the fastest production on the planet, however we won’t know for sure until more details about the vehicle are revealed.
It will be exciting to see whether the ApolloN will beat the world record for the fastest production car.
